Woman says ex-boyfriend kidnapped her

Advertiser Staff

A 31-year-old man who has no local address was arrested yesterday in connection with a series of incidents reported to police last week by his ex-girlfriend.

In a complaint filed July 22, the woman, 24, said her former boyfriend entered her car while she was getting gas in Pearl City and that when she ran from the car, he chased her down and carried her back to the car.
The woman told police her former boyfriend tried to start the car but could not. She said the man got out of her car, smashed the windshield and ran away.
Police reported locating the man yesterday on Keeaumoku Street near Ala Moana Center close to where the woman works.
While being arrested, the man assaulted two police officers and kicked out the rear window of the vehicle that was transporting him to the police station, police said.
The ex-boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, first- and fourth-degree criminal property damage and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
