NFL: Jaguars sign Mike Thomas, cut Calvin Lowry

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars say they've have signed rookie wide receiver Mike Thomas to a contract and released veteran defensive back Calvin Lowry.
Thomas was the team's fourth-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the 107th pick overall. According to a Thursday news release, the 22-year-old receiver is the second of the team's nine draft picks to sign a contract this year.
Thomas was a four-year starter at Arizona as a receiver and return specialist and finished as the Pac-10's all-time leader in receptions with 259. The DeSoto, Texas, native ranked third in school history with 3,231 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns.
Lowry was signed by the Jaguars in December and was inactive for the final two games. He played in 43 games with 14 starts for Tennessee and Denver.
