Beach volleyball: Germans win men's beach volleyball worlds

STAVANGER, Norway — Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann of Germany have beaten top-seeded Brazilians Harley and Alison in straight sets 21-16, 21-19 to win the men's final at the World Beach Volleyball Championships.
Top-seeded April Ross and Jennifer Kessy of the United States edged third-seeded Brazilians Larissa and Juliana 30-28, 23-21 in the women's final, also on Sunday.
Brink and Reckermann became the first European pair to win a gold medal at the worlds after rallying from a 19-16 deficit in the second set. The third-seeded Brazilians eliminated Olympic champions Todd Rogers and Philip Dalhausser of the United States in the semifinals.
Rogers and Dalhausser won the bronze-medal match 21-11, 21-16 over David Klemperer and Eric Koreng of Germany.
