Annual Red Mass set for Thursday with Gomes as preacher

The Rev. Herman Gomes will discuss the life of Father Damien at the Red Mass at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace.
Gomes, a member of Damien de Veuster's Sacred Hearts order, is pastor of St. Ann Church in Kaneohe.
The annual Red Mass is a gathering of federal, state and city officials that traditionally helps kick off the new Legislative session, which opens Wednesday.
