HALEAKALA
New superintendent for park coming from Guam

Sarah Creachbaum, a 15-year veteran of the National Park Service, has been named superintendent of Haleakala National Park.

She will replace Marilyn Parris, who is retiring Jan. 31.

Creachbaum will move to Maui from Guam, where she is superintendent of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park. She also oversees the American Memorial Park on Saipan.

Her prior postings include Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Saguaro and Grand Canyon national parks.
