Another Käne'ohe resident who last year threatened to kill President-elect Obama is now serving an 18-month sentence in federal prison.
Mark Miyashiro was charged last December with making two threats against Obama and was also found to have access to a Russian-made assault rifle.
Secret Service agents interviewed and arrested Miyashiro after a doctor treating him for schizophrenia warned the agents that Miyashiro was having "delusions" about Obama and could pose a threat to the politician.
When interviewed by two agents at his Käne'ohe home, Miyashiro initially said he intended "to hurt Obama using a slingshot and a marble," believing that it would "help prove that Obama is the Antichrist and to see if he would come back to life," according to court records.
He denied owning a gun but when the agents searched the house, they found the rifle and several boxes of ammunition, court files said.
"Miyashiro admitted that his wife purchased and registered the weapon for him because he was not able to get a permit and had been denied a weapons permit in the past," the agents reported.
"He further admitted that he was a 'gun nut' and practiced shooting at the public firing range at Koko Head," the agents said.
Miyashiro pleaded guilty to the charges against him and was sentenced in June by District Judge Helen Gillmor to 18 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release.
