Finau second in Big Break tourney

Tony Finau, a 17-year-old pro from Salt Lake City who is sponsored by Turtle Bay Resort, placed second on the Golf Channel's "Big Break" Disney Golf Tournament.

Tony, along with his brother Gipper (who came in fourth) and 10 others were playing for an exemption to play in the 2010 PGA Tour Children's Miracle Network Classic.

The brothers will play in the Hawai'i State Open that begins today.

CAMP

KO OLINA OFFERS GOLF, TENNIS CAMP

Ko Olina is offering golf and tennis camps for children from Dec. 21 to Jan. 8.

The golf camps will be held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 1 p. m to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $40 per junior. Book four sessions and the fifth one is free (must book all sessions at one time and attend the same session times.)

Reservations are required at least one day in advance and can be made by calling the Ko Olina Golf Shop at 676-5300.

The tennis camps will be offered Dec. 21 to Jan. 8 on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $40 per junior .

FUNDRAISERS

HSJGA HOLDS TENT SALE SATURDAY

The Hawai'i State Junior Golf Association will hold a tent sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at King Auto Center in Líhu'e, Kaua'i.

Items for sale include Ralph Lauren apparel for women and other brand name shirts for men and children from the U.S. Open Championships as well as new and used clothing donated by Michelle Wie.

MILILANI ATHLETICS HOSTS TOURNAMENT

A golf tournament fund-raiser for Mililani High School's athletic department will be held at noon Jan. 20 at Mililani Golf Course.

Entry fees are $150 per person or $450 per team in a three-man scramble format.

Par-3 contest prizes will include $10,000 in cash and new golf clubs.
