Ed Case running in special election

Former U.S. Congressman Ed Case today announced his candidacy for the upcoming special election to fill the remainder of Neil Abercrombie�s term.
Earlier today, Abercrombie announced his intention to resign from the U.S. House of Representatives to pursue his campaign for governor of Hawaii.
�Neil�s mid-term resignation leaves an especially big puka in our delegation at a critical time for our Hawaii and country,� Case said in a statement. �With my seniority, experience, relationships and knowledge of current issues in Congress, I can and will hit the ground running from day one. Hawai�i�s representation won�t miss a beat. We all believe in a better way forward for our Hawaii and country. I truly look forward to the opportunity to serve you again in D.C.�
Case served from 2002 to 2007.
Case said his campaign is already starting. He his hosting a holiday lunch tomorrow at Central Intermediate School cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
