Geckos are loose at The Queen's Medical Center — but it's OK, they're friendly, even cute, and they've come to celebrate the holidays. Best of all, they're made from discarded cardboard to decorate the 10-foot Christmas tree in the hospital lobby, which is also recycled from cardboard used at the facility.

Artist and Queen's employee Mark Chai made 150 geckos for hospital staffers to decorate and hang on the tree. Each is about 10 inches long and decorated by Queen's staff. You can view them during regular hospital visiting hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

LOCAL STARS COME TOGETHER FOR TOYS FOR TOTS

The 2nd annual Na Mele o Na Keiki (Music for the Children) Toys for Tots Holiday Concert will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

The free concert features Corps Forces Pacific Band, with guests Danny Kaleikini, Carole Kai, Jim Nabors, Amy Hänaiali'i, Anita Hall, Steve Hott and Jake Shimabukuro, in his first Hawai'i appearance after playing for the queen of England.

Free tickets are available at the Blaisdell Box Office, and Marines will be available at the concert to accept toy donations.
