27 students taken to hospital after bus fender-bender
A school bus was involved in a fender bender accident that sent 27 public school students to two hospitals.
State Department of Education spokeswoman Sandra Goya said all of the students from Moanalua Middle School were released after being checked out yesterday.
Goya said the accident occurred when the bus was rear-ended by a car.
City Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic had said one boy who complained of head pain and dizziness was listed in serious condition. Cheplic said the other 26 students were in stable condition.
Two buses from the public bus system were used to transport 15 students to one hospital and 12 of their classmates to another.
School principal Lisa Nagamine said the accident occurred before 7 a.m.
