Investigation continues into dead woman found in alley

Advertiser Staff

Police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a young woman whose body was discovered yesterday morning in an alley beside a building off Winant Street near the Kamehameha Homes housing complex.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said paramedics at 10:20 a.m. made a death pronouncement on the woman. Police said the woman was 18.

The incident was initially classified as an unattended death, although detectives are investigating signs of possible foul play, police said.

Witnesses said it is believed the woman was a 2008 graduate of McKinley High School. Authorities have not said whether the body has been positively identified.
