No tsunami threat from 6.9 quake in Japan

A 6.9 magnitude earthquake that hit southeast of Honshu, Japan this morning did not generate a tsunami threat for Hawaii, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The earthquake struck at 12:56 this morning but �a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected,� according to the center, �and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.�
