Suspect in Waianae assault case turns himself in

Advertiser Staff

A 24-year-old Waianae man was arrested yesterday in connection with an assault reported by his girlfriend in early June.

The woman, 18, told police she was arguing about midnight with her boyfriend in front of their home June 7 when he grabbed her arm and slammed her into a parked vehicle.
She said she fell to the ground and lost consciousness as the man ran from the scene.
Police said the woman was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center where she was treated for a concussion, and released the same morning.
The boyfriend turned himself in at the main police station Monday and was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
