Suspect in attack on police arrested

A 45-year-old homeless woman who was shot by police after she allegedly lunged at officers April 3 was arrested shortly after being released from the hospital yesterday.
The woman was booked on four counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and was being held in the police cellblock last night pending charges.
On April 3, police said, the woman was screaming and acting erratically at the intersection of South King Street and Kalakaua Avenue. When officers arrived shortly before 2 a.m., police said the woman lunged at them with a 14-inch metal rod and an 18-inch metal skewer.
One officer fired two shots at her while another officer used a Taser device. The woman was taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where she was confined until yesterday.
FLASH-FLOOD WATCH ISSUED ACROSS STATE
The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood watch for the entire state from noon today to 6 p.m. tomorrow.
Weather conditions will develop over the Islands today and tomorrow, destabilizing the atmosphere, according to the watch information.
Moisture lingering near the Islands from a passing cold front will supply low-level moisture which could combine with the upper-level instability and produce heavy rain that could result in flash flooding, the weather service said.
SUPPORT KA'ELEPULU STUDENTS AT FUN FAIR
Ka'elepulu Elementary School will host its fourth annual Fun Fair, concert and silent auction from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday on the campus grounds, 530 Keolu Drive in Kailua.
The free event features games, food and performances by Danny Abreu, Turning Point, Lambs' Book and a hula halau.
Money raised from the activities will support school programs such as art, music and physical education.
RED CROSS TO HOLD LUNCHEON SUNDAY
The Hawai'i chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its annual luncheon Sunday at the Kahala Hotel & Resort.
The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and will feature a champagne reception, silent auction and three-course lunch.
Individual seats cost $175. Table sponsorships are available.
