SEOUL, South Korea — Top-seeded Maria Kirilenko rallied to claim the Korea Open title with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Australia's Samantha Stosur on Sunday.
Stosur broke serve against the Russian in the third and fifth games of the first set for a strong start before Kirilenko came back to win her third WTA title of the year.
Kirilenko took advantage of several unforced errors to break Stosur twice before serving out the second set. After leading 4-0 in the third, Kirilenko held out a determined Stosur to win in just over two hours.
Kirilenko, No. 33 in the WTA rankings, won the Estoril and Barcelona championships earlier this year.
