Box jellyfish influx light in Waikiki on first day
Advertiser Staff
Lifeguards and ocean safety officials found about 130 box jellyfish in Waikiki this morning, the first day of the monthly influx, Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said.
The influx is expected to peak tomorrow and Saturday.
"We're posting warning signs in Waikiki but so far none have been found on other beaches," Cheplic said. "We still want people to check with lifeguards before going into the water."
