NASCAR record-holder Leilani Munter — an advocate of sustainable energy, alternative fuel vehicles and "green" race tracks — gives a talk at 6:30 tonight at the state Capitol auditorium, part of her Race to Save the Planet. Munter — the daughter of a Big Island nurse and sister-in-law to Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir, by the way — is one of only four women who've raced in the Indy Pro Series. 593-0255.

GOOD FOOD, FUN AND CAUSES, TOO

The NightMarket @ AlohaTower is adding a healthy dose of conscience to its Wednesday night offering, 5 to 10 p.m. at Aloha Tower. Local nonprofits will be highlighted along with fashion, food, art and entertainment, a farmers market and plenty of Made in Hawaii products. NightMarket is even partnering with Blue Planet Foundation to make the event carbon-neutral — a portion of all fees will go to carbon credits; 732-6699.
