Coast Guard embarks on ocean rescue

Advertiser Staff

The U.S. Coast Guard is gearing up to pick up an injured crew member of a motor vessel about 100 miles southwest of Barber's Point, the second ocean rescue for Coast Guard in three days.

At the moment, the Coast Guard must wait for the vessel to come within range of the HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter to fly out and hoist the injured 40-year-old man, who is aboard the Hokuetsu Future.

This first Coast Guard rescue was Tuesday of a 32-year old male who was suffering from an unknown sickness aboard the vessel called City. The man was taken from Midway Atoll and taken to The Queen's Medical Center.
