Tadd's payday: $2,120 for 65th place finish in Japan

Honolulu's Tadd Fujikawa earned about $2,120 for a tie for 65th at the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup at Tojigaoka Marine Hills Golf Club in Okayama, Japan.

The 17-year-old Moanalua High junior struggled to an 8-over-par 80 Sunday in the final round to finish at 5-over 293 at the Japan Golf Tour Organization tournament. His payday was 219,000 yen, according to the JGTO Web site.

Hideto Tanihara closed with a 1-over-par 73 to win the tournament, finishing at 18 under (270) for the $193,760 first prize. Tanihara finished three shots ahead of Katsunori Kuwabara, Shingo Katayama and Nobuhito Sato.

On Friday, Fujikawa made his third cut since turning pro last year and his second in a JGTO event. A total of 67 golfers made the cut.

Fujikawa earned about $3,100 for a tie for 48th at The Crowns tournament in Japan earlier this month.
