UH's Haislet, Van Doornum named to WAC all-tourney team

RUSTON, La. — Hawai'i outfielders Brandon Haislet and Jeff Van Doornum were named to the Western Athletic Conference all-tournament team, the league announced today.
Haislet went 10 for 19 with four runs, seven RBI, four doubles and one home run in UH's five games, while Van Doorum batted 8 for 22 with four run, 11 RBI, a double and two home runs.
Fresno State beat Nevada, 6-4, in the championship today at JC Love Field at Patterson Park. It was the Bulldogs' third consecutive tournament title. They will be awarded a regional bid that goes to the WAC champion. Other WAC teams are not expected to earn at-large bids. Hawai'i beat Nevada on Friday to send it to the losers' bracket. After Fresno State beat UH on Saturday, the Wolf Pack defeated the Rainbows later that night to advance to the championship from the losers' bracket of the double-elimination tournament.
Next year's tournament will be hosted by Hawai'i.
