Hawai'i couldn't solve Arizona State pitcher Katie Burkhart for a second consecutive day as the Sun Devils beat the Rainbow Wahine, 8-0, in Tempe, Ariz., to advance to the Super Regionals of the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

The Rainbows finished their season 40-21, falling just short of matching their Super Regional appearance last season. Arizona State is 59-5.

Burkhart pitched her second consecutive shutout against the 'Bows, allowing three hits, striking out six and walking none. The game was called after five innings because of the eight-run knockout rule. Yesterday, she pitched a two-hitter in a 10-0 win over UH in the double-elimination tournament.

Starter Kate Robinson pitched 1 2/3 innings in her final game as a Rainbow, allowing three earned runs, five hits, while walking two and striking out none.

The Sun Devils added five runs in the bottom of the fourth, highlighted by Kristen Miller's grand slam, to put the game away.
