KANE'OHE
Hawaiian Civic Club sponsoring lecture, hike

Advertiser Staff

The Ko'olaupoko Hawaiian Civic Club is sponsoring a drug rehabilitation lecture and forest hike this month.

The hike on Likeke Trail is at 10 a.m. Saturday but space is limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Call the club at 235-8111 to reserve a seat.

Habilitat representatives will give an update on programs there and the efforts to help residents and families in Kane'ohe at 7 p.m. April 1 at the Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center on Ha'iku Road.

The lecture is part of the regular meeting for the civic club that starts at 6:30 a.m. and is open to the public.

"We know that there is concern in our community about substance abuse, and Habilitat has a long reputation for providing services to help people in those circumstances," said Rocky Kaluhiwa, club leader.
