Pacific Islanders in Communications awarded $50,000 to Na'alehu Anthony, a local public TV director who is currently producing a documentary about the voyage of the Hokule'a from Honolulu to Satawal.
Anthony's film is a 30-year retrospective on the rebirth of non-instrumental navigation and wayfinding in the Pacific by recounting the life of 75-year-old Mau Piailug, who hails from the tiny atoll of Satawal in the Caroline Islands.
