Debbie Wright named vice president at BYUH

Brigham Young University Hawai'i has named Debbie Hippolite Wright as Vice President for Student Development and Services.

Her appointment is part of an organizational redesign of the university's President's Council by Steven Wheelright, BYUH president. The council has been consolidated from four vice presidents and a chief information officer to three vice presidents and an assistant.

Wright, who is returning to BYUH, comes from West Valley, Utah, where she is a family services clinical supervisor. She replaces Isileli Kongaika, who will take another position at the school.

Originally from New Zealand, Wright graduated from BYUH, was a professor of social work and department chairperson there for 17 years before moving to Utah two years ago.
