They say every dog has his day. Well, some dogs have LOTS of days, and today is one of those days at Koko Marina Center, where Bark Avenue, Pacific Paws Doggie Resort & Spa and Hawaii Kai Veterinary Clinic are sponsoring a benefit for the Hawaii Dog Foundation called "Dog Day Afternoon."

Activities include a doggie fashion show, discounted doggie nail trims, training tips, wellness exams, a doggie model contest and more.

The Hawaii Dog Foundation is a nonprofit devoted to finding homes for homeless canines. Volunteers will have adoptable dogs at the event at a meet-and-greet area for prospective families.

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Marina Courtyard. Admission is free. 394-2343, www.kokomarinacenter.com.
