Maui mayor to deliver state of the county address

Maui Mayor Charmaine Tavares is scheduled to deliver her second State of the County Address to members of the County Council on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers on the eighth floor of Kalana O Maui, the County building. It is open to the public.

Participating in the event will be King Kekaulike High School senior, Rick Yamamoto, who has just attained the rank of Eagle Scout and students from Kamehameha School Maui Campus' 4th and 5th grade who won their age division at the 2008 Na Mele O Maui song competition.

Yamamoto will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the Kamehameha Maui students will perform their winning song.

The Mayor's speech will be broadcast live on Akaku Community Television's channel 53 and will also be available live on KNUI Radio AM 900.
