Wie, Kaneko both make cut after 2-under 142

Punahou School graduate Michelle Wie shot 1-over-par 73 today in the second round of the $1.3 million Fields Open at Ko Olina Golf Course.
Wie, 18, who shot 3-under 69 yesterday, had three birdies and four bogeys for a two-round total of 2-under 142.
She recorded birdies on holes No. 2, 6 and 14. She bogeyed holes No. 4, 8, 11 and 15.
She drained a difficult downhill putt on No. 5 to save par and just missed a birdie by a few revolutions of the ball on No. 9. She made the turn at even-par 36.
Wie, playing competitively for the first time since last October, is trying to rebound from a disastrous 2007 in which she endured injured and fractured wrists.
Until yesterday's 69, Wie had not recorded a score in the 60s since July 2006.
Jeong Jang is the clubhouse leader with a two-round total of 12-under 132. She shot 4-under 68 today after a 64 yesterday.
Song-Hee Kim shot 8-under 64 today and is second at 11-under 133.
Paula Creamer shot 4-under 68 and is at 10-under 134.
The projected cut of the 136-player field is at even-par 144.
Both Wie and fellow 18-year-old Ayaka Kaneko are expected to make it through to tomorrow's final round of play.
Earlier in the day, Kaneko, a Sacred Hearts student, shot a 2-under 70 for a two-round total of 142.
Kaneko started on the back nine today and recorded three birdies and one bogey to make the turn at 2-under 34.
On her back nine, she had two birdies and two bogeys, including one on her final hole of the day.
