High surf advisory posted for Oahu's north, west shores
Advertiser Staff
The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for north- and west-facing shores on O'ahu.
Surf along north-facing shores is expected to climb to 12 to 15 feet this morning, subsiding to 8 to 12 feet by the afternoon.
Surf of 6 to 10 feet is expected along west-facing shores.
A series of northwest swells will continue from now through the middle of next week. The current northwest swell will gradually subside below the high surf advisory threshold later today. A reinforcing northwest swell arriving Monday will likely push surf heights above the advisory threshold again from late Monday through Wednesday.
