Police yesterday opened an second-degree assault investigation into "suspicious injuries" suffered by a 5-month-old infant girl.

Police were notified about the infant's injuries, which occurred sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. yesterday, by Wahiawa General Hospital. No details about the injuries were released by police.

There has been no arrest in the case.
