American Savings collecting toys for needy kids

Advertiser Staff

American Savings Bank will hold its monthly "First Saturday" community collection program today in support of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program.

In conjunction with American's extended branch hours, all branches statewide that are open on Saturdays – 48 of its 63 total branches – will serve as collection points for donated items designated for a nonprofit organization on the first Saturday of every month. Visit www.asbhawaii.com for participating branches and hours.

Today, American's Saturday branches will be collecting new toys for children of needy families.

The Salvation Army is an international movement and an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. The organization is well known in Hawai'i for its extensive charitable work in such areas as food and clothing assistance, daycare services, addiction treatment services, and a range of other outreach community service activities.
