Kalama Park playground reopens after repairs
The Kalama Park playground has reopened after a $417,872 project to replace and repair equipment damaged in a January fire.
Removal of the damaged equipment and construction of a concrete base started in February, with installation of new play structures and surfacing taking place earlier this month.
The play structures include several climbers, a challenge bridge, double slides, a lily pad bridge and activities for children ages 2 to 5. Other features are geared to children ages 5 to 12.
David P. Ting & Sons was the contractor for the county project.
