NFL: 49ers reserve DB Strickland arrested in San Jose
Associated Press
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Donald Strickland, a reserve defensive back for the San Francisco 49ers, faces misdemeanor charges for allegedly running away from officers who were trying to arrest him for public drunkenness.
The 27-year-old was arrested this month on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Police say Strickland was spotted in an altercation with a group of men near a downtown San Jose nightclub on April 13. When officers tried to arrest him, he ran away, but fell after a short distance.
A 49ers spokesman says the team declines comment until it gets more information about the case.
