Police are seeking the public's help in finding the would-be bank robber who ran off without getting any money from American Savings Bank last week.

The man, described as Caucasian, in his 30s and wearing a black jacket and shorts with brown hair, was last seen running from the bank at 1600 Kapi'olani Blvd. at 3:50 p.m. Friday.

The man handed the teller a note, but when the teller didn't immediately comply, the man handed the teller a withdrawal slip, said police Sgt. Kim Buffet.

When the teller asked the man for ID, he fled.

CrimeStoppers asks anyone with information to call 955-8300 or *CRIME on your cell phone. CrimeStoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
