Team Tesh is back in Hawai'i this week after another successful showing at the Ichinoseki International Half Marathon in Iwate, Japan.
Each year, venerable local running coach and photographer Uriel "Tesh" Teshima takes three runners from Hawai'i to Japan to compete in either the 13.1-mile main event or the affiliated 10K race.
This year, Teshima brought along Candes Meijide Gentry, Shelley Grisbrook and Sue Hughes — all fixtures of the local running scene.
Grisbrook placed ninth in the half-marathon with a time of 1 hour, 29 minutes and 55 seconds. Gentry (23rd) finished in 1:36:32. Hughes completed the 10K event in 1:17:25.
