The Honolulu Jazz Quartet, whose cool jazz has caught the attention of jazz authority Nat Hentoff (he did the liner notes on their second album), is off to the Mainland for a minitour of California and Washington state. To finance the trip, the band is playing a concert at 7 tonight at the Musicians Association of Hawaii's Studio 1, 949 Kapi'olani Blvd. (enter from the new building on Waimanu Street). Special guests will be Jimmy Borges and Keahi Conjugacion. Donation: $20.
