Las Vegas continues to grow at a whirlwind pace, but not without hiccups. Several big deals have run into snags. The biggest news may be that an announced $2 billion redevelopment of the Tropicana has been put on hold. Other notable delays include an in-process sale of Hooters, a postponement of a $500 million expansion at Silverton, and the recent halting of a $1 billion project on the south Strip called Southern Highlands. Rising construction costs and interest rates have put a damper on growth in the midst of the biggest boom in Las Vegas history.

MORE 'BLACKJACK': The "Ultimate Blackjack Tour" returns to the airwaves with its Season 2 debut Saturday on CBS. This season matches luminaries from both blackjack and poker in "Elimination Blackjack" tournaments.

NO LIGHT, NO FEVER: After six years, Light nightclub at Bellagio has closed for what's expected to be a remodel and reopening in 2008. And Fever at South Point has also closed, although this venue will become the South Point Showroom and won't reopen as a club.

REPRIEVE: The Tangerine nightclub at Treasure Island was due to close Sept. 1 but has a stay of execution through the end of this year, when it will close for a major remodel.
