Oli will follow exhibition

A special exhibition of rare panels from Hawaiian-language newspapers will be open to the public on June 10 at Kalaekilohana-Hale Kipa Na'auao Bed and Breakfast in Ka'u.

Following the exhibition will be an oli performance featuring Ke Kula 'O Samuel M. Kamakau immersion school from O'ahu. The performance serves as an opportunity to hear some of the thousands of oli that Hawaiian-language newspapers published from 1834 to 1949.

The panels will be on display from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the bed-and-breakfast on South Point Road. Performances begin at 6:30 p.m.
