TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"King of Queens" series finale, 8 p.m., CBS. For nine years, the world has greeted "King of Queens" with a shrug. It's an OK comedy that has slipped on, off and around the CBS schedule. Now it leaves with class. This final episode is quite funny, with some moments of decent drama. Doug (Kevin James) learned that Carrie (Leah Remini) was keeping the Manhattan apartment she'd promised to get rid of. They split at a hectic time — just as they were waiting to adopt a baby from China and just as her dad (Jerry Stiller) was preparing to marry a saucy nightclub singer (Lainie Kazan). All of that combines tonight during a busy hour. There are some fine supporting bits by Anne Meara (Stiller's real-life wife) as Veronica and Nicole Sullivan as Holly.

"What If God Were the Sun," 6 p.m., Lifetime. Hugely contrived, wildly manipulative, this movie still manages to be affecting. Credit a terrific cast and a director (Stephen Tolkin) who can make excess seem believable. We must believe that a young nurse is ultra-competent one moment and a sputtering mess the next. We must accept a key personal event happening just a curtain away from her. And we must buy all sorts of other manipulations. This probably shouldn't surprise us, because it's from a novel by John Edward, who expects us to believe he often talks to the dead. Still, this works. Lacey Chabert, a fine actress since her "Party of Five" days, makes the nurse believable. Gena Rowland, a Broadway and Hollywood star for a half-century, is excellent as her key patient.

OF NOTE

"Dancing With the Stars," 7 p.m., ABC. We're down to four couples, with the winner being chosen next week.

"House," 7 p.m., Fox. This busy rerun has two sex-related cases — a man's health crumbles during rough sex with his wife; a man has symptoms of herpes, even though he and his wife both say they've been faithful.

"The Riches," 7 p.m., FX. This is Wayne's version of an intervention for his wife's drug habit: He gets himself high on meth; she must prevent trouble at his office.

"24," 8 p.m., Fox. Jack has only two more hours to prevent a collision of the U.S., China and Russia.

"Heroes," 8 p.m., NBC. Most of the heroes gather in New York and try to prevent the explosion that has been predicted. Meanwhile, Peter and Claire feel they might be able to avoid it by getting out of town. And just as Hiro prepares for a fierce fight, he learns a family secret from his father, played by George Takei of "Star Trek."

"The Bachelor," 8:30 p.m., ABC. Andy takes the final three women to O'ahu, no idle vacation jaunt; he works here as a military doctor. Baldwin takes the women to the Pearl Harbor memorial and discusses the life of a military spouse. He also has separate, overnight dates with the women before trimming the field to two for next week's finale.
