Be on lookout for box jellyfish

Video: Box jellyfish invade Waikiki

Advertiser Staff

Swimmers should still look out for box jellyfish in the water today.

The monthly influx peaked Friday and tapered off yesterday. One jellyfish was found off Waikiki Beach yesterday morning.

Those allergic to jellyfish should still be careful.

During the influx, the jellyfish most often can be found off Waikiki Beach.

They are also often spotted in Hanauma Bay, Poka'i Bay and Waimea Bay.

Hanauma Bay was closed Friday because of the jellyfish influx, but it was reopened yesterday after no jellyfish were found in an early-morning assessment.
