Free programs in the Kahuku Public & School Library conference room will feature book publishing, crocheting and more.

Author Kerry Germain will discuss the secrets of getting a children's book published, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Germain wrote about a boy named Kimo in "Surf's Up for Kimo" and "Kimo's Summer Vacation."

Roberta Wong, author of "Fancy Hawaiian Lei in Crochet," will share tips and techniques on crocheting a beautiful lei for graduation, at 1 p.m. May 18.

Dr. Marc Shlachter will talk story about photographs he owns depicting life in La'ie and Hau'ula, at 6:30 p.m. May 22.
