It's easy to buy local at the new Candy Shop in Kaka'ako. And the place has trouble keeping Dan Weaver's cutnsewn clothes in stock. Candy Shop director of marketing Courtney Young models one of the F.A.C.E. of Nu'uanu winner's designs ($35). Young revealed that Weaver will soon be back in town from L.A. to debut his new line. Also worth checking out are Michele Lau's new sundresses — they're Petticoat Junction meets Fighting Eel.

WEARABLE ART

Former O'ahu girl Maya von Geldern, who now makes Italy home, teamed up with artist Antonio Greco and his wife, MichEle Lilley, to make jewelry and T-shirts using Greco's work. You'll find them at Kailua's balcony gallery (263-4434), as part of Greco's show opening, 1 to 5 p.m. today. The jewelry costs $40 to $100; the handpainted T-shirts are $65 to $80.

THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TELEVISED

The Hawai'i music underground is finding a place on TV through the work of "TRX TV" creator Andrew Magpoc (left, with his crew). Airing weekly on OC 16, "TRX TV" plays music videos with a focus on local talent. Last month, Magpoc launched "TRX Free on Demand" on Oceanic digital cable channel 584 — now fans can watch their favorite local celebs rock out or spit dope rhymes whenever. And on Thursday "TRX" will host Hawai'i's first ever nationally televised Battle of the Bands at Sound/House, at 1192 Alakea St. Fifteen rock bands will perform for fans and video cameras in a show that will be broadcast on OC 16 and on the Web TV station In Your Face TV (http://inyourface.tv).
