A 90-year-old Hilo man who was hurt in a May 3 traffic accident has died of his injuries, Big Island police said.
Henry Barba, of Hilo, was reversing in a 1989 Dodge multipurpose vehicle from a parking stall at the Kamana Elderly Housing complex when he struck a wooden wall. He then pulled forward and struck two parked vehicles, police said.
Barba suffered a head injury in the crash and was flown to The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, where he died June 12.
Barba's accident was in a private parking lot, which means his death will not be counted in the official Big Island traffic fatality tally, which now stands at 17.
