Pro tour to resume

The Association of Surfing Professionals 2007 World Championship Tour for men will resume in two weeks.

The Rip Curl Pro Search is scheduled to run June 20 to July 1 at Arica, Chile. The contest is the fourth of 10 stops on the 2007 tour.

Four Hawai'i surfers are in the field: Andy Irons, Bruce Irons, Fred Patacchia Jr. and Pancho Sullivan.

Through the first three contests this year, Australia's Mick Fanning is ranked No. 1. Andy Irons is No. 7, Bruce Irons is No. 12, Sullivan is No. 16 and Patacchia is No. 30.

The World Championship Tour for women is on a break until August.

PADDLEBOARD RACE

The 29th annual Hui O He'e Nalu Independence Day Paddleboard Race is scheduled for July 4 on O'ahu's North Shore.

The 3 1/2-mile course will start at Sunset Beach and finish at Waimea Bay. Entry fee is $30, and deadline is June 27.

Age divisions range from 19-younger to 60-older, and there will be divisions for stock boards, unlimited boards, surfboards and stand-up paddleboards.
