The county Department of Environmental Management's Solid Waste Division reports that 4,500 households are delinquent in paying for refuse collection.

The payment was due July 15. The cost of $72 covers service from July 1 through Dec. 31.

To avoid interruption of service, the county is warning that payments should be received no later than tomorrow.

Payments can be made in person at the Solid Waste Division office, One Main Plaza, Suite 225, in Wailuku.
