WAI'ANAE
Blessing held for playground

Advertiser Staff

A blessing of the new playground for keiki at the Pai'olu Kaiaulu Housing Facility in Wai'anae took place yesterday.

The housing facility is the fourth opened with state funding in the last year as part of the Lingle-Aiona administration's efforts to reduce homelessness in Hawai'i.

A $52,000 grant from Ko Olina Charities and donations from Ameron Hawai'i and Stanley Tools helped fund the project.

Gov. Linda Lingle was expected to attend the event to thank volunteers from the Hawai'i Republican Party who built the playground, and Ko Olina Charities for financing it.
