The Wai'anae Coast Rotary Club recently presented 11 area graduates of Nanakuli and Wai'anae high schools with $15,000 in college and continuing education scholarships, said club spokesman Fred Weick.

He said the funds were a heartfelt gift that the small but active club has handed out annually for years to help further higher education for area students.

In addition, the club gave $50 savings bonds to 33 sixth- graders who attend the 10 elementary schools on the Wai'anae Coast.

The recipients are children who show promise through good grades and contributions to the school and community.
