A woman was critically injured and five children were hurt yesterday in a single-car crash in Kalaeloa.

The crash at Tripoli Street and Coral Sea Road was reported at 4:13 p.m.

Firefighters had to pry the woman out of the car, which police said swerved off the road and hit a tree.

The woman was taken to The Queen's Medical Center with critical injuries, said Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

Three boys and two girls, ages 8 to 13, also went by ambulance to Queen's in stable condition, Cheplic said.
