TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Tournament of Roses Parade" (6 a.m., ABC; 8 a.m., HGTV; 9 a.m., Travel Channel; 10 a.m., NBC; ) and game (11:30 a.m., ABC). Today's game should be a strong one. Southern California, pretty much the home team, plays a Michigan team still bitter about not being in the championship game. First, there's the parade, with ABC competing for attention. NBC no longer has the game, but has been involved with Rose Bowl coverage for 80 years. It will have Billy Bush in his first time as commentator; for Nancy O'Dell, his "Access Hollywood" colleague, it's the eighth time. There's also coverage on the Travel Channel and on HGTV, which wins friends by airing this commercial-free. Robb Weller anchors, alongside Paul James of "Gardening by the Yard" and Karen McAloon of "Design Remix."

OF LOCAL NOTE

"Red and White Song Contest," 5 p.m., KIKU. It's the 57th annual installment of this popular Japanese new year's day show.

OF NOTE

Outback Bowl, 6 a.m., ESPN. There's no parade for some viewers, as they start the bowl barrage early. Tennessee against Penn State.

Cotton Bowl, 6:30 a.m., Fox. Here's another morning bowl. It features Auburn and Nebraska.

Gator Bowl, 8 a.m., CBS. Now CBS nudges into the action, with its lone game featuring Georgia Tech and West Virginia.

Fiesta Bowl, 3:30 p.m., Fox. Boise State, which is undefeated, faces the always-imposing Oklahoma.

"Dream Home," 9 p.m., HGTV. This special introduces a 4,000-square-foot home in Winter Park in the Colorado Rockies. On March 18 that home will be the prize in a giveaway for viewers.
