Blake McElheny saluted by North Shore chamber

The North Shore Chamber of Commerce has named Blake McElheny its 2007 North Shore Kama'aina of the Year.
McElheny was the driving force behind the successful preservation of the Pupukea-Paumalu coastal bluff overlooking Sunset Beach.
He is an active board member for the North Shore Neighborhood Board, Kokua Hawaii Foundation and the Waimea Valley Audubon Center Community Stewardship Board.
Others recognized by the chamber are the North Shore Community Land Trust, given the Malama 'Ana Award; the Honolulu Fire Department, Public Service Award; Lee Bryant, Holomua Award; Takahashi Family, Holomua Award; North Shore Shark Adventures and Wayne Porter, Ho'onani Award; Francis Forsythe, Volunteer of the Year; Carolyne Lazar, Volunteer of the Year; Chet Naylor, Chamber Champion; and Haleiwa Super Market, Special Recognition Award.
All awardees were honored at a Dec. 1 party.
