IHOP owner opening 4th location

The owner of three IHOP restaurants in Hawai'i will be opening her fourth franchise this month in the Times Square Shopping Center in Waimalu.

Sarah Espino owns and operates IHOP restaurants in Waikiki, Windward Mall and the Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo. The Pearl City restaurant will be housed in the space formerly occupied by Blockbuster.

Espino said she plans to open more IHOPs in the Islands.


A&B DONATES $75,000 TO NONPROFIT

The Alexander & Baldwin Foundation has awarded $75,000 to Hale Kipa, a nonprofit agency that provides programs for at-risk youth, to help fund the construction of a comprehensive support center and campus of residential shelters.

Christopher J. Benjamin, vice president and treasurer of A&B Foundation, presented the first of three $25,000 installments to Hale Kipa's board of directors. Founded in 1992, the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life in communities where employees live and work.

Hale Kipa serves more than 3,600 at-risk children, adolescents and young adults and their families throughout the Islands each year.


HAWAIIAN'S NOV. FLIGHTS 88.7% FULL

Hawaiian Airlines said today that its planes were 88.7 percent full in November.

Hawaiian said its load factor for last month was up 3.7 percentage points from the year-earlier month's 85 percent.

The state's largest airline said it served a total of 592,441 passengers in November, which was up 11.7 percent from the previous November's 530,159.


BUSINESS HALL OF FAME TO INDUCT 4

Four local business leaders will be inducted into the Junior Achievement Hawaii Business Hall of Fame in a ceremony this spring.

The four are: Jon de Mello of Mountain Apple Company, Joseph J. Ferraro of Ferraro Choi And Associates Ltd., Peter Kim of Yummy Restaurant Group and Richard Ha of Hamakua Springs Country Farms.

The ceremony will be March 7 at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki.

A total of 64 men and women have been inducted into the Hawaii Business Hall of Fame since its founding in 1990. Past inductees include Paul Loo, Dwayne Steel, Mitch D'Olier, Robin Campaniano, Chatt Wright and Dr. Richard Kelley.


FIRMS PARTNER ON TEXT SOFTWARE
